Willow Vessel Stone Grey

£60.00

Hand-thrown grey speckled glazed stoneware vessel with a bundle of willow and wisteria twigs held in loops on the rim.

Out of stock

The piece is made from speckled stoneware and thrown on the potter’s wheel. A layer of dark grey porcelain slip is painted onto the outside surface then a softly speckled crackle glaze is added to the surface giving the vessel a speckled grey buff tone inside and a dark grey speckled exterior. After being fired, a bundle of willow and wisteria twigs have been added, held in small loops on the rim. The piece is a slight ‘second’ as it has slightly warped at the rim. See photos.

The work is inspired by the colours and tones of the Sussex landscape where the flint and chalk fields of the South Downs provide a distinctive backdrop. The addition of twigs and other natural materials in my collection further connects my work to the local landscape and, for me, represents a connection to place and an enduring sense of home and belonging.

Delivery costs will be added to the order at the checkout. If you have ordered multiple items they will be grouped together and you will only be charged one delivery price.

I aim to despatch the items to you as soon as possible but please note the order may take up to a week to arrive with you in the UK and longer if it is an international delivery.

If you need the item to arrive for a specific date, please do let me know by adding an ‘order note’ at the checkout.

I use UK based courier services or Royal Mail for delivery, depending on the type and size of item ordered.

International Delivery

Where the item is to go to Europe, USA or other non-UK destination, please select the destination country at the checkout and the price will be adjusted to include your shipping location.

International delivery times may be longer than in the UK. If you need something by a specific date please do let us know.

Please note that customers are responsible for any import charges/duties that may be incurred and must comply with any local regulations.

Packaging

I aim to avoid single-use plastic and new packaging as much as possible, preferring to reuse and recycle materials such as boxes and bubble-wrap as much as possible. My priority is also to make sure the package is as protective as possible for your order to arrive safely. If the item is a gift and you would like it to be sent gift-wrapped, please do leave an ‘order note’ at the checkout.
