You can commission me to make a vessel for you in this style.
This example piece is made from white porcelain, thrown on the potter’s wheel and high-fired to 1270c with a creamy glaze. Once fired, a willow branch is added to the top with small porcelain and wire pieces rising from the willow to form a tiny ‘tree’ line.
The work is inspired by the colours and tones of the Sussex landscape where the flint and chalk fields of the South Downs provide a distinctive backdrop. The addition of willow and other natural materials in my collection further connects my work to the local landscape and, for me, represents embracing a connection to place and an enduring sense of home and belonging.
